CITGO'S LOW COST HOME HEATING OIL PROGRAM
The Citgo low cost home heating oil program was developed in 2005 to help low income families who struggle to pay their energy bills. At this time, the program covers 16 states including Wisconsin.
The CITGO-Venezuela Home Heating Oil Program uses eligibility criteria similar to that of the federal government's Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). For information on eligibility, please contact:

Q. What states are receiving heating oil?
This program currently is available in 16 states:
Alaska, Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Greater Philadelphia, Greater Pittsburgh, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and Wisconsin. CITGO is also providing discounted home heating oil directly to 163 Native American tribes in the states of Alaska, Maine, Minnesota and New York.
Q. What period of time will be covered by the program?
The program will be active from Nov. 15, 2006 through March 14, 2007.
This winter, 100 million gallons of heating oil will be distributed as part of the program.
CITGO is distributing this heating oil at a 40% discount from the delivery price.
This year, the amount of heating oil to be distributed at this discounted price more than doubles the amount from last year. Also, the number of states covered in this program has also doubled since last year including the addition of Wisconsin.
163 Native American communities are benefiting from the program, of which 151 are in Alaska.
Each eligible household is allowed a delivery of up to 200 gallons at a 40% discount. |
